Last night i went to a dinner party at a friend's house where there was just the right amount of wine (read: too much), a long table groaning with cous cous, honey soy chicken and string bean salad, filo pastry with spinach and feta, rocket tomato and bocconcini salad with balsamic vinegar, a precarious tower of brownies and bowls full of strawberries and cream. I've had the most fun i've had in a long time, my cheeks aching at the end of the night from laughter, walking home in that dizzy champagne haze. The torrential rain we've been having in sydney paused long enough for me to walk home in the early hours of the morning, and then started again so i could drift to sleep to the sounds of water splashing against window panes.
ps. the post title comes from the dolly parton song 9 to 5, the version i've been listening to is a remix by royksopp and 2 many DJs, and its simply marvelous for alcohol-fuelled girls nights with dancing on tables and sharing secrets.
